Yamaha has launched the XSR 155 in India, marking the entry of its globally known retro-styled motorcycle into the local market. Priced at INR 1.50 lakh, the model combines classic design cues with the same mechanicals from the MT-15 and R15.

Design-wise, the XSR 155 follows a neo-retro approach. A round LED headlamp and tail lamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and flat single-piece seat define its appearance. The motorcycle features an LCD instrument cluster styled to resemble traditional analogue units, offering essential information in a compact layout.
The motorcycle is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 18.4 hp at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. It uses a 6-speed gearbox and features Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) for a broader power range.

The Deltabox frame, upside-down front forks, and monocross rear suspension contribute to its handling setup, while dual-channel ABS and traction control are included for braking and stability.
To enhance its retro appeal, Yamaha is offering two optional customization kits — Scrambler and Cafe Racer. The Cafe Racer kit gives the motorcycle a sportier, retro-inspired look with a lower stance, front fairing, and a sharper tail section that reflects the classic cafe racer style.

On the other hand, the Scrambler kit brings a tougher, adventure-oriented appearance, emphasizing off-road-inspired design elements.
Available in Metallic Grey, Vivid Red, Greyish Green Metallic, and Metallic Blue, the XSR 155 adds another option to India’s growing 150–160cc motorcycle category.
